in the past, i enjoyed making carrds, primarily as a form of self-expression. but i wanted more freedom in what i created because i was a non-pro user! that's when i found out about neocities and figured i should start learning HTML & CSS.

halcalic was created in 2022, but i didn't start using my site until late 2024. this was mostly because i forgot about it.. lol

my code definitely has room for improvement and i still have lots to learn, but this kind of thing is just so fun to me! halcalic is an extension of myself and i'm super-duper excited to continue to work on it/add to it.

i'm not exactly sure when, but i remember having a very brief phase/interest in HALCALI, a J-pop duo, and i guess i wanted to dedicate a username to them.

in hindsight, this definitely wasn't the most creative thing i've ever done, considering how i simply added another letter to their name and called it a day..
